Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food production and hospitality, and the ability to manage a team effectively. The Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth shift transitions.
Duties
- Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, serving, and overall kitchen operations to maintain high-quality standards.
- Manage daily operational tasks including stock control, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Support staff in delivering excellent customer service whilst fostering a positive work environment.
- Coordinate shift activities to optimise productivity and minimise wastage.
- Handle customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are strictly followed across the premises.
- Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing coaching to existing team members.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving or food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Previous management or supervising experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and organise teams effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
- Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is highly desirable; barista experience is considered an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanour.
- A recognised qualification in hospitality, culinary arts or management is preferred but not essential.
