Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in hospitality and food service. This role involves supporting daily café operations, preparing beverages, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. Previous experience in catering, serving, or barista work is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The successful applicant will contribute to creating a positive dining experience and uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with professionalism and courtesy
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, snacks, and light meals
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout the shift
- Handle cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing enquiries and resolving any issues promptly
- Support catering functions or special events when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or restaurant environments is desirable but not mandatory
- Barista training
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends if necessary
- A genuine interest in hospitality and providing outstanding customer service
