Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Care Home Domestic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment within the care home, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents and staff alike. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or hospital environments to utilise their skills in a caring setting. Duties
- Perform daily cleaning duties across all communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and corridors to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and clothing.
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, cleaning materials, and other essentials as needed.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the relevant department promptly.
- Support with specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with infection control policies, especially within hospital or healthcare settings.
- Maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services or hospital environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and hygiene standards within healthcare settings.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to organisational policies.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure thorough cleanliness at all times.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude towards work responsibilities.
- Previous experience in a care home setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
