The post holder will act as a GP working within ABCs Core GP Team that spans the Remote and Refugee and Asylum Seeker services.
Main duties of the job
Our Core GPs are at the root of all clinical activity within ABC,working seven daysa weeksupervising,supportingand running our often-evolving central services.This team, running alongside our operational and non-medical prescriber teams, allows us to setup services safely,efficientlyandquicklyand it is the knowledge, experience,energyand passion of our Core GPs thatallows us to dothis.Agility is at the heart of this role.

Clinical Supervision
As part of ABCs commitment to developing our clinical workforce, all our Core GPs must complete their Clinical Supervisor training. Triage to and supervision of our various HCP and NMP teams is an integral part of this role, asisleadingvarious internal and external multi-disciplinary teammeetings.
2.Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service(RASS)RASSTriage
- Must be available to answer phones from refugeeandasylumseeker accommodationfrom 8am-8pm.
- Triage calls from patients and respond appropriately either by providingadvice, prescribing medication, arranging a F2F visit from anHCP orroving doctor or signposting to other services.
- Work closely with RASSRovingGPandTeam ofHCPs on the day to ensure service needs are met.
- Provide clinical support and supervision to HCPsworkingthat day.
- Record any patient contact onSystmOneor EMIS,includingregistering new patients on the clinical systemswhen needed.
- Review and filehealth checkblood results inbox daily onSystmOneand EMIS & ensure any urgent results are actioned on the samedayand patients are phoned through the results.
- Discuss blood results from health checks with patients and act on these appropriately.
- Ensure patients are referred appropriately via local pathways (mental health, sexual health, TB teametc.) and any follow-up is arranged.
- Remain flexible with the possible need to rove if new arrivals and servicesarebusy.
- Liaise with hotel staff and managers to ensure any ongoing patient needs are met.
- Ensure original FP10 prescriptions are hand delivered or posted to pharmaciesin a timely manner.
RASSRoving
- Assess all new arrivals F2F to screen for diphtheria, other infectiousdiseasesand any acute medical concerns.
- Be available for any F2F visits that arerequiredduring the day 8am-8pmin asylumseekeraccommodation.
- Attendplanned andad hocdedicated clinicsathotel/othersites when the need arises.
- Work closely with RASSTriageGP andHCPs on the day to ensure service needs are met.
- Provide clinical support and supervision to HCPsworkingthat day.
- Be available to answer triage line calls (calls will be diverted to roving doctor if triage doctornotavailable to answer).
- Record any patient contact onSystmOneor EMIS, including registering new patients on the clinical systems when needed.
- Review and file blood results inbox daily onSystmOneand EMIS & ensure any urgent results areactionedon the samedayand patients are phoned through the results.
- Ensure patients are referred appropriately via local pathways (MH, sexual health, TB teametc.) and any follow-up is arranged.
- Liaise with hoteland accommodationstaff and managers to ensure any ongoing patient needs are met.
- Ensure original FP10 prescriptions are hand delivered or posted to pharmaciesin a timely manner.

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential
- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of working in an urgent care environment (UTC/ED/MIU)
- Experience of leading, and working within, a team of clinicians and GPs
- Experience or demonstrable interestofworking with underserved/ marginalised populations facing complex health and social challenges
- Willingness to engage with voluntary sector organisations, community groups, and partners supporting refugee and asylum-seeking populations
- Proactive approach andstrong communicationskills to build trust and rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds and reduce health inequalities
