Our key requirements include:
- Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent (Required).
- L3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (Required).
- At least 1 years’ experience working within a children’s residential setting or within children’s services (Required).
- Have experience of supervising staff within a care setting (Required).
- Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders.

Role Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in all aspects of the management of the home in accordance with Mutual Care’s commitment to Safeguarding and in line with our policies, procedures and all relevant regulations including Ofsted and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
This is an off-shift position working 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday. You will also be part of an on-call rota supporting our homes out of hours.
Key Objectives:
- To support the Registered Manager in the implementation of all aspects of the home’s Statement of Purpose.
- To deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
- Working in partnership with parents, carers and practitioners, ensuring all children and young people are safeguarded at all times.
- To proactively provide a caring and supportive environment for young people that respects and affirms their individual identity (cultural, emotional, spiritual, gender, social etc) and one in which they feel secure and free from harm and bullying.
- To comply with all organisational policies and procedures, and legislative requirements within The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act and all other relevant legislation as appropriate.
- Commit to and maintain a strong safeguarding culture within the home.
- To maintain, respect, and adhere to confidentiality when working with vulnerable children.
