Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Project Manager to join our team.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a specialist engineering business managing projects from receipt of order through to completion.
We are open to candidates with different levels of experience. Whether you are an experienced Project Manager looking for your next challenge or someone with project coordination, engineering or construction experience looking to develop your career, we would be pleased to hear from you. Training and support will be provided to help you succeed.
Working from our office in Thetford, you will manage a variety of interesting theatre and concert hall projects across the UK, coordinating activities between our design office, manufacturing workshop and site installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Typical project value £100k - £2m
The role also includes occasional UK travel to attend site visits, project and client meetings.
Responsibilities
- Managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously from order through to completion.
- Producing and maintaining project programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Working closely with our design team, manufacturing team and site installation team to coordinate project delivery.
- Acting as the main point of contact for customers throughout each project.
- Attending meetings with customers, consultants, architects and main contractors.
- Planning project activities and monitoring progress against programme.
- Managing project budgets and commercial performance – identifying cost variations.
- Identifying and managing project risks.
- Preparing project documentation, reports and progress updates.
- Attending site visits, commissioning activities and project handovers when required.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys solving problems.
Ideally you will have:
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence communicating with customers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Previous experience in project management or project coordination.
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing or construction – 5 years +
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project planning software.
- Commercial awareness and budgeting experience.
- A project management qualification such as APM or PRINCE2.
