Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in both home care and care home settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment for those in our care. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals are essential.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Monitor and report any changes in patients' conditions to the healthcare team.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance patients' quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Previous experience in home care or care home settings is advantageous.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Empathy and patience when dealing with patients’ needs and concerns.
