Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Articulated Forklift Truck Operator & Dispatch Assistant to join our warehouse team.
You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the warehouse and dispatch operation. The role involves operating a counterbalance forklift to move pallets into and out of racking, as well as supporting the dispatch team with scanning, order preparation and general warehouse duties.
Main Duties
- Safely operate a articulated forklift truck within a busy warehouse environment.
- Load, move and position pallets safely within the warehouse.
- Place pallets into the correct racking locations and retrieve pallets when required.
- Work closely with the dispatch team to remove pallets from racking for scanning and order preparation.
- Carry out regular checks of the forklift and report any faults or defects immediately.
- Assist with loading and unloading pallets and products where required.
- Carry out regular manual handling, including lifting, carrying and moving boxes, cartons and other products.
- Ensure pallets and products are handled safely to prevent damage.
- Keep the warehouse and working areas clean, tidy and organised.
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Support other warehouse and dispatch duties as required.
Requirements
- Valid Articulated Forklift Truck licence.
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Comfortable carrying out regular manual handling and heavy lifting as part of the role.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Basic numeracy skills for stock and order-related tasks.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
Working Hours
Mon-Fri - minimum 40 hours (overtime available)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
