Senior Support Worker – Join Our Compassionate Team
Location: Exeter
Salary: £14.10 to £15.60 per hour/£27,495 to £28,500 per annum.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible shifts including weekends and evenings. Overtime is available at an enhanced rate.

Caraston Hall Support Ltd is looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team. We offer person-centred supported living services across Exeter, supporting adults with mental health disorders, learning disabilities, and/or autism.

About the role:
This senior team lead role involves:
- Providing leadership and support to a team of mental health support workers.
- Ensuring the service is safe and effective.
- Overseeing the Health and Safety tasks relevant for the service you are working as delegated by the Service Manager. These can include fire drills, food hygiene checks, property maintenance schedules etc.
- Providing on-call out of hours support. The on-call is shared with the Deputy Manager and the Service Manager.
- Acting as the shift coordinator which includes managing the diary, staff rota and allocating the daily tasks.
- Carrying out individual need/risk assessments; develop person centred support/care plans with the clients and others involved in their support/care; and carry out regular reviews, ensuring excellent standards and successful outcomes for clients
- Conducting monthly health and safety audits.
- Carrying out weekly medication audits.
- Provide support/care through person centred approaches that reflect agreed shorter and longer term goals as stated within client support/care plans.
- Ideally you will have experience in working in a mental health setting and are able to advise and lead on providing high quality support for clients diagnosed with long term mental illness.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who is :
- Experienced in working in a health or social care setting.
- Caring, compassionate, and non-judgemental

- Willing to learn and grow in the role
- Able to work shifts, including weekends and evening
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding procedures and the use of the Mental Capacity Act
- Has experience in supervising employees.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
- Proficient in creating and implementing care plans and conducting medication audits.
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and documentation.
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
