The Role
As Insurance Officer (upon which the majority of your time will be spent), you will manage our insurance office. As Quality Officer, you will also maintain the company's BS EN ISO 9001:2015 BSI Quality Management System.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage company’s insurance office, including maintaining records and correspondence; liaising with insurers and brokers where required; corresponding with claimants where claims below excess.
- Investigating claims.
- Maintaining organised electronic filing systems and documentation. Reviewing and promoting increased use of IT in insurance office.
- Working with departments across the business to ensure compliance with insurers requirements; minimisation of risk; etc.
- Organising annual renewals of insurance policies, including calculations of previous adjustments for expiring year, and calculation of relevant financial forecasts etc regarding policy renewals / placements for coming year.
- Manage the maintenance and continual improvement of the company's Quality Management System.
- Organising and supporting the transition from ISO 9001:2015 to ISO 9001:2026 standard (due to be published September 26), including amending existing Quality Manual and existing Procedures etc.
- Preparing reports, documentation and management information.
- Reviewing and updating company policies, procedures and quality documentation.
- Producing clear, professional written correspondence and communications.
- Carrying out internal audits and assisting with external audits, including BSI assessments.
- Working with departments across the business to ensure compliance with company’s quality management system.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical, numerate, literate and enjoys working with detail.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to produce clear, professional reports and formal correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence working independently as well as part of a team.
- Insurance related experience would be an advantage.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System compliance environment would be advantageous, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience within the utilities, construction or engineering sectors would also be beneficial but is not essential.
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
