HGV Mechanic – Nuneaton

Salary: Dependant on experience + standby + overtime
Hours: Day shift // Circa 47.5 hours per week
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join a well-established transport operation based in Nuneaton. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering excellent earnings and benefits.
As an HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards, carrying out servicing, repairs, and inspections. You will also be required to support with pre-MOT checks and general workshop duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, service, and maintain trailers, vehicles, and factory transport.
- Carry out pre-MOT checks in line with DVSA/VOSA standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Complete all associated paperwork accurately.
- Maintain safe working practices and a clean workshop environment.
- Support other ad hoc tasks as required.
Your normal working hours will average 47.67 per week.
- Day shift - Monday to Friday with occassional Saturday mornings
- Average: 47.67 hrs per week
Standby / Call-Out Pay
Overtime Opportunities
- Voluntary overtime is available
- Paid at enhanced rates
Candidate Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class C+E licence desirable but not essential).
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience as an HGV mechanic / technician.
- Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical knowledge.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.
