Job Summary
WholeShip (WS) runs the National Drone Hub (NDH) based at Predannack Airfield on the Lizard. The NDH is a world class, independent facility for testing drones & their associated technologies.
The WholeShip Operations Support role serves as the liaison for all on-site queries, whether received in person or via telephone. The Operations Support coordinates the daily flying and on site operations on behalf of the Operations Delivery Manager. This role ensures efficient communication, operational continuity, and site integrity.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a continuous presence in the Operations (OPS) Office during duty hours,
- Manage and update the daily OPS programme.
- Operate and maintain Flying Program
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming queries, effectively triaging and directing them to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Conduct regular site walk-rounds to ensure cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Ensure all personnel on site display valid identification and work closely with on-site security teams to maintain safety and access control.
- Oversee the booking and use of meeting rooms, resolving scheduling conflicts as required.
- Carry and manage internal communications equipment (radios).
- Monitor the use of Wholeship vehicles, ensuring correct sign-out procedures and completion of vehicle checks when required.
- Support flying operations by preparing and delivering daily flying briefs to customers and staff, including ensuring all NOTAMs are current and correctly displayed.
- Verify that all required airspace and danger area bookings are in place prior to operations.
- Provide operational support within the ATC Tower when required, including opening/closing responsibilities during flying periods.
- Maintain overall site presentation and cleanliness standards.
- Remain flexible and available to undertake additional general duties as directed by the management team.
- Work within a rotating shift pattern, ensuring continuous staffing of the OPS desk and appropriate tower coverage during operational hours
Requirements
- Able to make effective decisions.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to present open, honest, and constructive discussion and demonstrate clear analytical thinking.
- Ability to deliver tasks on time and with a high degree of autonomy and accuracy.
- A proactive attitude that brings drive, energy, and passion to the role.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
