Job Title: SEND Teacher (mainstream)
Location: Burnley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: Term Time Only, Temporary
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Burnley.

The Role:
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
- Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where all children can thrive.
- Adapt teaching methods, resources and activities to support a range of learning needs and abilities.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, implementing strategies to support both academic and personal development.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations through strong classroom management.
Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have previous experience supporting and teaching children with SEND within a school setting.
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Be confident adapting lessons and tasks to suit a variety of learning needs and abilities.
- Have a valid Enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
- Have the Right to Work in the UK.
- Be able to reliably commute to Burnley.
- Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working within a mainstream primary school environment.
- Knowledge of a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Experience creating and implementing personalised learning plans.
- Additional SEND-related qualifications or training.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A flexible, proactive and creative approach to teaching.
