Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of service and safety within a busy restaurant environment. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency across all dishes served
- Manage and motivate kitchen staff, including training new team members and delegating tasks effectively
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Assist in serving food during peak hours when necessary, ensuring excellent customer service standards are met
- Monitor food costs and waste to maximise profitability without compromising quality
Experience
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideally in a restaurant, pub or hospitality environment
- A background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques
- The ability to manage a team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or similar hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food production processes, menu development, and inventory control is advantageous
