Overview
Kelvin Gardens is a family-owned business in East Dunbartonshire. We focus mostly on lawn mowing, hedge trimming, garden maintenance and cleanups. Our customers are residential and located throughout East Dunbartonshire, Bearsden, Milngavie and surrounds. We’re seeking an experienced and hardworking Gardener to join the team. This role involves performing essential groundskeeping tasks, utilising both hand and power tools, and ensuring that all areas are well-maintained. You’ll work on-site in our customers’ gardens. A driving is advantageous but not required.
Responsibilities
- General landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Use power tools such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and blowers
- Operate hand tools for digging and planting
- Removal of rubbish and debris from sites (garden cleanups)
- Follow safety protocols while working around machinery and in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- 2-3 years previous experience in gardening.
- Strong knowledge of the tools and equipment you’ll need to use.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour including lifting heavy objects and digging.
- High-quality workmanship: you work fast, but you keep a strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours
We offer permanent full-time contracts for a fixed number of hours per year. Because gardening is seasonal, most of your hours will be worked during the summer and shoulder seasons, with more time off in the winter. During the summer you can expect to work full-time hours.
