Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis and/or CDP to join our culinary team. As a part of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic restaurant environment while working alongside experienced chefs.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Support senior kitchen staff in various cooking tasks, including food production and plating.
- Help manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the head chef.
- Participate in the training of new kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
