A unique opportunity to lead outdoor adventure sessions all year round
The Outdoors Project Brighton & Hove is looking for an experienced, confident Lead Instructor to take charge of one of our busy Holiday Club sites. This is a fantastic chance to step into a role where you’re not just delivering sessions — you’re running the show, shaping the day, leading a team, and creating unforgettable outdoor experiences for children aged 5–11.
Unlike many outdoor activity roles, this isn’t just seasonal work. We’re offering consistent, year‑round opportunities across holiday clubs, after‑school clubs, parties and more.
What we do
Our sessions are 100% outdoors and packed with adventure:
- Bushcraft & fire lighting
- Shelter building
- Nerf battles
- Survival skills
- Nature themes
- Games inspired by kids’ favourite worlds (Harry Potter, Pokémon, Minecraft, etc.)
- And above all… FUN!
What we’re looking for
We need someone who can step in and lead immediately — someone who’s run groups, managed staff, or overseen activity sessions before. You’ll be responsible for the smooth running of a holiday club site, and after school club, ensuring children are safe, engaged, and having the best time possible.
Essential qualities
- Leadership experience — ideally in outdoor activities, childcare, education, sports coaching, or similar
- Confident running groups of primary‑aged children
- Ability to manage a small team and keep a site running smoothly
- Reliability and strong communication
- A love of the outdoors — we’re outside in all weathers
- Enthusiasm, positivity and a sense of fun
Desirable (but not essential)
- Paediatric Level 3 First Aid Qualification.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Level 1 or higher safeguarding course.
Hours & opportunities
This role centres around Holiday Clubs and After School Clubs, but we also offer:
- Weekend birthday parties
- Additional seasonal and year‑round work including workshops.
We’re building a team of people who want to grow with us as we expand, and are available throughout the year.
What it’s like to work with us
Our team includes teachers, TAs, outdoor instructors, creatives, students, and even former club attendees now working with us. We value personality, passion and playfulness as much as qualifications.
