Full Time Leisure Attendant
Whitworth Leisure Centre is an independent leisure facility comprising a pool, gym and fitness studio. We are a registered charity run by a Board of Trustees, and receive no funding from local government. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where every member of our community is given access to quality leisure, fitness, and wellness facilities, promoting not only physical health but mental wellbeing and social connectivity.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Leisure Attendant to join our team. This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, which includes alternate morning and evening shifts. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness and smooth operation of our leisure facilities while delivering excellent customer service to all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise pool activities and ensure the safety of all users
- Carry out lifeguarding duties in line with health and safety procedures
- Set up and take down equipment for activities and events
- Complete all allocated tasks set according to the cleaning rota to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility
- Run our centre reception, providing a welcoming and helpful service to customers
- Respond effectively to emergencies and incidents
- Support the wider team with day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification essential
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and possibly occasional weekends
- A team player with a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a leisure or fitness environment
- First Aid qualification
- Pool plant experience
- Fitness instructor qualifications a bonus
