About Mayfield House School
Mayfield House School is an independent specialist school for children and young people aged 6 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or associated anxieties.

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient, and committed English Teacher to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist SEMH setting, delivering engaging and adaptive English lessons to pupils with a range of additional needs.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Teaching Assistants, and our wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality teaching, develop pupils' literacy and communication skills, and help every learner achieve their potential.
This is a full-time, permanent position
Working Hours
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Tuesday
8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Friday
8.30 am - 4.00 pm
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has excellent classroom practice and high expectations for all learners.
- Has experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Has experience of teaching pupils with SEND and/or SEMH (desirable).
- Is creative, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Is organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
