Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our accounts team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day accounts operations by managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient financial records.
This position is based within a small, busy office and would suit someone who thrives in a fast paced environment. The role involves a varied workload, combining with both purchasing and sales-related tasks.
34 Hours Per Week
Monday - Friday Office Based.
Responsibilities
- Perform data entry for invoices, payments, and expense reports using accounting software using Xero.
- Assist with accounts payable processes by verifying and processing supplier purchase orders and supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments.
- Support accounts receivable activities including invoicing clients and tracking outstanding balances, taking customer payments when required.
- Utilize systems like Xero, Evonet and Excel to update financial information and generate reports as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions, receipts, and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Handling calls and queries via phone and email and passing to the right departments.
- General admin, printing, filing and scanning.
Skills
- Strong knowledge in accounting software such as Sage or Xero, (Xero preferred but not essential)
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using spreadsheets including formulas, data management and reporting.
- Ability to reconcile accounts and analyze financial data effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong, clear communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
