About the Role
We're expanding our Cost Management capability in the Midlands and are looking for a Cost Manager to join our growing team in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to build your career within a newly established business line inside JLL's well-established regional office, working on a varied portfolio of projects alongside experienced colleagues.
Reporting to the Midlands Regional Cost Management Lead, you'll deliver cost management services across a range of projects, drawing on strong technical support, leadership guidance, and access to industry-leading and AI-enhanced tools. You'll be based in one of the best offices in the Midlands, working alongside multi-disciplinary experts in a collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost plans, tender documentation and project budgets from feasibility through to post-contract stages.
Support procurement activity across single-stage and two-stage tendering, under both traditional and Design & Build routes.
Monitor and report on cost performance throughout delivery, flagging risks and variances early.
Assist with value engineering and risk management advice under the guidance of senior colleagues.
Work closely with project managers, building consultants and design teams to support smooth project delivery.
Manage your own workload across multiple projects, maintaining accuracy and client service standards.
Use digital and AI-enhanced cost management tools to support reporting and data-led insights.
Contribute to JLL's reputation for technical excellence in the Midlands market.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
Working towards MRICS (or equivalent), with a clear intent to pursue chartership.
Some post-qualification experience in cost management, ideally across a range of sectors.
Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to project delivery.
Clear communication skills and a developing ability to manage client relationships.
A collaborative, proactive approach to working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Ambition to grow within a globally respected business, with a structured progression pathway from Cost Manager to Senior Cost Manager.
