Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver packages to multiple destinations within designated routes.
- Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit.
- Follow planned routes accurately, adhering to delivery schedules and traffic regulations.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers and customers, providing updates on delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each stop made during your shift.
- Assist in warehouse activities when necessary, including stock movement and inventory checks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver license preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks regularly throughout the day.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Prior warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading/unloading procedures.
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and navigation tools to optimize delivery routes.
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and safety awareness.
