The Opportunity
We're looking for a Sales Manager to join our commercial team and play a central role in that growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach through to closing. Across our portfolio of research subscriptions, intelligence platform, bespoke reports, and technology strategy workshops.
This is an exciting role for someone who thrives on building relationships, crafting compelling proposals, and winning new business. You'll have real influence over how we grow, direct access to senior leadership, and genuine earning potential through an uncapped commission structure.
What You'll Do
- Identify, build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients across the maritime and maritime technology sectors.
- Lead outreach and discovery conversations with new contacts and organisations.
- Run sales meetings for prospects and existing clients.
- Create and deliver tailored proposals for private research, publication partnerships, and platform subscriptions.
- Conducting sales meetings either face to face or online to prospective, new and existing clients in order to generate new business.
- Respond promptly to inbound enquiries and convert them into revenue.
- Feed client and market insight back into product and service development.
- Represent Thetius at industry events and conferences globally as and when required.
- Keep the CRM up to date with activity, pipeline, and deal progression.
- Identify new revenue streams and opportunities as the business evolves.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A proven track record in B2B sales, including new business development.
- Excellent communication skills across phone, email, video, and in-person.
- Strong negotiation and closing ability.
- Confident working to targets and managing your own time.
- Experience building relationships across all seniority levels.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand client needs quickly.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience in a maritime, shipping, or adjacent B2B sector.
- Familiarity with emerging technology trends in maritime.
