We are seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in the development, integration and optimisation of advanced automated and robotic systems. This position is suited to a strong engineering professional with a background in industrial systems, automation or manufacturing engineering who is looking to work on complex, hands-on engineering challenges within a fast-paced production environment.
While direct robotics engineering experience is highly desirable, it is not essential. We are looking for a highly capable engineer with strong core engineering principles, problem solving ability and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate and support robotic and automated systems within a manufacturing environment
- Program, configure and troubleshoot robotic equipment and associated control systems
- Work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors and industrial automation systems to optimise performance
- Lead or support installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production cells
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults, minimising downtime and improving reliability
- Work closely with production, design and maintenance teams to improve efficiency and throughput
- Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, including process optimisation and lean manufacturing projects
- Provide technical input into future automation and capital investment projects
Essential Qualifications / Attributes
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related discipline) or equivalent relevant experience
- Proven experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural or automation environment
- Previous welding/ fabrication experience
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex systems
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production and engineering teams
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience in robotics engineering or industrial robotics systems (e.g.ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa)
- Experience with automation integration, machine vision systems or industrial networking
- Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments
