We are looking for a Female Support Worker/Personal Assistant, to support our 18 year old daughter to access art and social opportunities. She would also like to develop her Independent Living Skills.
She has some mobility issues and does use a wheelchair at times. Occasionally, she can exhibit some challenging behaviour when she does not want to do something , so it is important to follow the clear and calm strategies which are in place and work well to motivate her. Someone with some experience working with young adults with ASD would fit this role, but not necesarry as training can be provided by the family .
A clean driving licence and use of your own car with correct insurance is essential to be able to take her to social activities.
We are offering 18 hours per week. Hours would be mutually agreed with occasional weekend hours.
Rate of pay is £15 per hour. 4 weeks paid holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays is applicable, as is access to a workplace pension.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, we will be considering female applicants only for this post in accordance with the provisional of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010) pursuant to schedule 9 part 1
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check (provided) and will start as soon as a clear check is received
