Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hard working Weekend Café Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional service in our very popular and busy café on a Saturday and a Sunday with some flexibility to cover shifts during the week and holidays.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential. More important is a willingness to learn, integrity, the ability to listen, the ability to work well with others and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of drinks and serving cakes, ensuring quality and freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and drinks, and addressing customer inquiries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and efficient service during busy periods.
- Help manage inventory by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the senior team
- Taking orders and payments once familiar with the processes.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Follow all café and business processes
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or café setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with hospitality is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and providing outstanding customer service.
