Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, equipment, and utensils to uphold health and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including washing, peeling, chopping, and basic ingredient handling
- Support the storage and organization of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to promote sustainability
- Help with dishwashing duties, ensuring all cookware, cutlery, and dishes are sanitized and ready for use
- Restock supplies as needed to keep the kitchen well-equipped during service hours
- Support the team during busy periods by providing additional assistance in serving or other hospitality duties as required
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of restaurant or hotel operations enhances your ability to adapt quickly
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safety protocols in food service settings
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Basic culinary skills such as food handling and preparation techniques are a plus
