Operations Lead
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum + Performance Bonus

About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Operations Lead to support the day-to-day running of our warehouse operation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead warehouse operatives, drive operational excellence, maintain high standards of organisation and housekeeping, and ensure compliance with our Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, leading by example, improving processes, and creating an efficient, safe, and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse operatives in daily activities.
- Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused working culture.
- Lead by example and maintain high standards of performance and conduct.
- Create and optimise warehouse floor space to improve efficiency and storage capacity.
- Ensure the warehouse remains organised, clean, and safe at all times.
- Monitor workflow and allocate resources to meet operational requirements.
- Produce and maintain operational reports and performance data.
- Support inventory accuracy and stock management activities.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Support compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements.
- Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards are followed.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager to achieve business objectives.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or operations leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing warehouse layout, storage, and space utilisation.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and reporting.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Understanding of continuous improvement and 5S principles.
- Forklift licence.
