The starting salary is £23,000–£28,000, depending on experience, with regular skills-based pay reviews and realistic potential for significant salary progression.
What you’ll be doing
Working from our Malvern head office and at customer sites, you will:
- Calibrate, service, and maintain a wide range of weighing equipment—from laboratory balances to weighbridges and load-cell systems installed on tanks.
- Install and commission new equipment, including programming configurable indicators and setting up relays.
- Assist with repairs in our workshop.
- Support a full-time customer service contract on a rotational basis, currently one week in every four.
- Take part in customer projects involving research and development, problem-solving, and prototype construction.
- Work independently on routine assignments and alongside colleagues on larger projects.
- Communicate professionally with customers and complete the necessary service documentation.
Full training will be provided to help you develop the technical knowledge required for the role.
What we’re looking forEssential
- A genuine interest in electronics, engineering, technology, or manufacturing.
- A strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Confidence using a PC, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other everyday software.
- Good organisation and administration skills, with the ability to follow established processes.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Clear, professional communication and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics, or the aptitude to learn.
- The ability to safely carry equipment and handle test weights of up to 20kg.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable—but not essential
- Previous experience working with electronics.
- An electronics qualification or education in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of communication systems and protocols such as RS232, Ethernet, and Modbus.
- Experience using test equipment such as a multimeter.
- PLC programming experience.
- An interest in, or knowledge of, metrology.
- A forklift licence; training can be provided if required.
