Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and motivated Warehouse Operatives to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse, handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or those eager to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment. The role involves physical activity, including heavy lifting, and requires attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Loading and unloading goods from lorries, ensuring correct placement and organisation
- Operating forklift trucks (training provided) to move stock safely around the warehouse
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, including preparing goods for dispatch
- Stocking shelves and ensuring the warehouse is tidy, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to maintain high standards
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks where necessary, applying basic mechanical knowledge
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling, picking & packing, or warehouse operations
- Ability to operate forklift trucks (training available for suitable candidates)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and load handling throughout shifts
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Mechanical aptitude or knowledge is a plus for supporting equipment maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to health & safety regulations within the warehouse setting
