Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team during daytime hours. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and restaurant staff to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a busy hospitality setting. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting kitchen staff with organisation and stock rotation of supplies
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment is kept in good condition and reporting any faults promptly
- Supporting the team with general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well as part of a team during busy periods
