About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Immigration Solicitor / Immigration Caseworker to join our growing immigration department.
This is a fee-earning role suitable for someone who can manage a varied immigration caseload, provide clear client advice, progress matters efficiently, and maintain high standards of file management and compliance.
The successful candidate must be confident dealing with clients, preparing applications, drafting legal representations, reviewing evidence, managing deadlines, and working within the standards expected of an SRA-regulated law firm.
This role would suit a qualified solicitor, experienced immigration caseworker, legal executive, or senior paralegal with strong practical immigration experience.
Main Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of immigration matters from instruction to completion
- Taking client instructions and advising clients under appropriate supervision where required
- Preparing and submitting immigration applications
- Drafting legal representations, cover letters, witness statements, and client correspondence
- Reviewing supporting documents and identifying evidential gaps
- Preparing appeal bundles and supporting immigration appeal work where required
- Managing Home Office, Tribunal, and client deadlines
- Keeping clients updated professionally and regularly
- Recording accurate attendance notes, advice notes, and file updates
- Maintaining compliant and well-organised client files
- Working with admin and support staff to progress matters efficiently
- Meeting billing, time recording, and matter progression targets
- Following firm policies, SRA requirements, AML procedures, and confidentiality obligations
- Escalating complex legal, compliance, client-care, or risk issues to supervisors

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in UK immigration law
- Able to manage files independently with appropriate supervision
- Confident drafting immigration representations and client advice
- Strong with evidence review and document analysis
- Commercially aware and able to progress files efficiently
- Organised, reliable, and deadline-focused
- Professional and confident with clients
- Good at written and spoken communication
- Able to work as part of a busy legal team
- Comfortable working to billing and performance targets
- Committed to compliance, confidentiality, and high client-care standards
Experience Required
Applicants should ideally have:
- Previous UK immigration casework experience
- Experience managing client files in a law firm, OISC firm, or legal services environment
- Strong knowledge of Home Office applications and procedures
- Good drafting skills
- Experience using legal case management systems
- Ability to handle a busy caseload

- Using systems such as Clio, LEAP, Proclaim, or similar platforms
