Role Purpose:
To ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe movement, storage, and loading of finished products from production areas to despatch or freezer facilities. The role supports operational flow by maintaining stock accuracy, completing documentation, and upholding quality and food safety standards.
Product Handling & Movement
- Transfer products from post-bake coolers to despatch and freezer areas efficiently and safely.
- Load finished goods onto outbound vehicles in line with scheduled delivery times.
- Conduct shunting of 7.5T vehicles between the van park and despatch area.
- Accurately pick customer orders onto pallets following order specifications.
- Check products and orders are correctly prepared for loading and dispatch.
Stock & Systems Management
- Record product and stock figures accurately into BC.
- Carry out stock movement and stock counting activities across the department.
- Ensure all relevant documentation and despatch paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Quality & Compliance
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or non-conformances to the Team Leader or Manager.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Experience in a despatch, warehouse, or food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately input and record data (BC experience desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in chilled or frozen environments.
- Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards.
- Forklift Truck licence – desirable as training will be provided.
- Knowledge of BC systems or similar warehouse management software would be beneficial but nor essential as training will be given inhouse.
