About FidiHair
FidiHair is a growing salon in Hull specialising in curly, coily, and textured hair. Our mission is to help women understand, care for, and confidently wear their natural hair through expert hair care, healthy styling practices, and exceptional customer service.
We are looking for a talented and professional Braider to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality services while growing with the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a variety of braiding and protective styles including knotless braids, twists, cornrows, stitch braids, crochet styles, and other textured hair services.
- Deliver services using FidiHair’s tension-free styling techniques while prioritising the health of the client’s hair and scalp.
- Conduct professional consultations and recommend suitable hairstyles and treatments.
- Prepare extensions, tools, and products before appointments.
- Educate clients on aftercare and maintenance of their hairstyle.
- Recommend retail products and treatments where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety within the salon.
- Clean and disinfect tools and equipment after each service.
- Support reception duties when required, including answering enquiries, booking appointments, and assisting clients.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure every client feels welcomed, valued, and cared for.
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the salon and uphold FidiHair standards and values.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in braiding and protective styling.
- Ability to work confidently with Afro, curly, coily, and textured hair.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, and organised.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Hairdressing qualification or relevant training.
- Experience with locs, natural hair care, extensions, or hair treatments.
- Experience using salon booking systems such as Fresha.
- Retail sales or product recommendation experience.
