We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Study Skills Tutor- Specific Learning Difficulties to support higher education students in achieving their academic potential.
Working on a one-to-one basis, you will provide specialist study skills and strategy support to students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and other specific learning differences (SpLD). Sessions may be delivered face-to-face or remotely via Microsoft Teams, helping students develop effective learning strategies and overcome barriers to learning identified through their Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) Needs Assessment.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist one-to-one study skills support to students with specific learning differences (SpLD).
- Help students develop effective learning strategies in line with recommendations outlined in their individual Needs Assessments.
- Provide support sessions face-to-face and online via Microsoft Teams.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with DSA requirements, GDPR legislation, and organisational policies.
- Complete and maintain Learning Assistance documentation and records.
- Attend Learning Assistance meetings and contribute to team development activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant professional memberships and qualifications.
About YouEssential Criteria
- Hold the required qualifications and professional memberships to deliver DSA-funded Specialist One-to-One Study Skills and Strategy Support (SpLD).
- Hold a Higher Education degree.
- Strong knowledge of academic study skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work in accordance with confidentiality, professional practice and GDPR requirements.
- Comfortable supporting students who have a Christian faith.
Desirable Criteria
- Degree in Theology or a related subject.
- Experience supporting students with academic study skills in higher education.
- Experience supporting students with specific learning differences (SpLD) in higher education.
- Knowledge of the impact of specific learning differences, mental health conditions and physical disabilities on learning.
- Understanding of reasonable adjustments and responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.
