Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Deli Staff to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of food items, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Duties
- Prepare and assemble a range of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter, assisting with their selections and answering any queries
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Restock shelves and display units as needed to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Operate slicing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Upsell additional products to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service
- Follow all food safety guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in stock management, including receiving deliveries and organising inventory
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and portion control
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is essential.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to serve customers courteously while maintaining efficiency under pressure
- Upselling skills to promote additional products naturally during interactions with customers
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are consistently met
