Freelance Video Editor - Social Media & Paid Ads
Joseph James Furniture Outlet is a discount furniture outlet with stores across Greater Manchester and the North West, selling brand-name furniture at outlet prices. Our social content and paid ads do one job: make people stop scrolling and do a double-take at the price.
We're looking for a freelance editor to take our footage and assets and turn them into fast, clean, high-performing short-form video - and who can match the style we've already built rather than reinventing it.
This starts as a small paid batch of work. If it goes well, it becomes an ongoing freelance arrangement supporting our regular content output.
What you'll be editing
Videos of 10–30 seconds for Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, TikTok and Meta paid ads. A typical edit involves:
- Clean cuts and pacing built for sound-off viewing
- Captions and subtitles
- Price and product overlays
- Light motion graphics using assets we supply
- Audio levelling, and occasionally rescuing imperfect audio
- Assembling talking-head footage and product-focused b-roll
You may occasionally be asked to create or adapt a graphic to suit a specific edit.
What we provide
All footage, graphics and brand assets, plus a written brief for each video. You'll work to the brief, but we welcome your input on hooks, pacing and structure where it stays consistent with our existing style.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrable short-form editing experience - a showreel or links to recent work
- An instinct for the first two seconds. In paid media, that's where the money is
- Reliability on turnaround, and clear communication when something's going to slip
- Any editing software is fine. We care about the output, not the tool
- Ability to deliver high-resolution, ready-to-post exports plus editable project files
You don't need furniture or retail experience. You do need to be able to make an offer land quickly.

Rate, volume and terms
- £10 per video
- Initial batch: approximately 5 videos - 1–2 organic social pieces and 2–3 paid ads
- Ongoing role, if it works out
- Fully remote, working to your own schedule around agreed deadlines
