Genco Tech are looking for a practical, hands-on Production Engineer to join our Manufacturing & Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to help transform innovative engineering concepts and refurbishment projects into efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing, you'll play a key role in introducing new products, improving manufacturing processes and supporting the refurbishment of legacy lighting products using modern LED technology and electronic control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
- Create work instructions, production documentation and test procedures.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through to full production.
- Design or specify tooling, jigs and fixtures to improve efficiency and quality.
- Investigate manufacturing issues and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Production and Quality to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Job requirements:
- Experience developing manufacturing processes and work instructions.
- Experience / have a keen interest within electrical / electromechanically manufacturing would be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting production and continuous improvement activities.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm
Friday 8am – 3pm
About You
You'll have experience in an electrical, electronic or electromechanical manufacturing environment and enjoy solving practical engineering challenges.
Desirable experience includes Lean Manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, ISO 9001, jig and fixture design, and LED lighting or electrical product manufacture.
