WW Bowen Ltd is seeking motivated and reliable Site Operatives to join our growing Utilities Division. We deliver high-quality utility infrastructure works across South Wales for a range of clients, and we're looking for individuals who take pride in delivering safe, professional and high-quality work.
Whether you're an experienced Utilities Operative or have a background in groundworks, civil engineering or infrastructure, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
As a Site Operative, you'll be involved in the installation, maintenance and reinstatement of utility infrastructure, working on projects across South Wales. Working alongside experienced teams, you'll play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Typical works include:
- Utility excavations and reinstatement.
- Service trenching and duct installation.
- Water, gas, electric and telecoms infrastructure works.
- Civil engineering and groundworks.
- Drainage installation and repairs.
- Concrete, tarmac and modular reinstatement.
- Street works and highway maintenance.
- Fencing, landscaping and associated civils works.
No two days are the same, and you'll be working on a variety of projects that help keep essential services connected.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out utility and civil engineering works safely and efficiently.
- Excavate, install and reinstate utility services in accordance with specification.
- Operate plant and equipment where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Read and work from utility drawings and site instructions.
- Ensure all work complies with NRSWA requirements, health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Lead or support small site teams where required.
- Complete work to programme while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
- Represent WW Bowen Ltd professionally on client sites and when interacting with the public.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Utilities
- Groundworks
- Civil engineering
- Reinstatement
- Drainage
- Highways
- Infrastructure
- Construction
The ideal candidate will also have:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safe working practices.
- Good communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
The following qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential:
- NRSWA Street Works
- CSCS Card
- CPCS or NPORS Plant Tickets
- EUSR Registration
- First Aid at Work
- Cat & Genny
- Manual Handling
