About Leo's Circus
Leo's Circus is an award-winning Community Interest Company that delivers exciting, inclusive circus experiences for children and young people across London and the South East.
Our holiday camps combine circus arts, movement, creativity, games and performance to create unforgettable experiences where children can build confidence, make new friends and discover skills they never knew they had.
We're looking for energetic, enthusiastic and fun Summer Camp Teachers to join our team in High Wycombe this summer.
The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves working with children and thrives in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
You'll help lead activities, encourage children throughout the day, support behaviour management, run exciting games and, where appropriate, deliver workshops based on your own skills and experience.
You don't need to be a circus teacher (although that's definitely a bonus!). We're particularly interested in people from backgrounds such as:
- Dance
- Musical Theatre
- Drama
- Gymnastics
- Cheerleading
- Circus
- Sports Coaching
- Performing Arts
- Youth Work
- Teaching or Teaching Assistant roles
Most importantly, we're looking for people who can bring lots of enthusiasm, confidence and positivity to camp.
Responsibilities
- Help deliver exciting, engaging activities for children aged 6–12.
- Lead fun games, warm-ups and group activities.
- Support children to participate, make friends and build confidence.
- Deliver workshops in your specialist area where appropriate.
- Encourage positive behaviour using praise and encouragement.
- Work alongside the Camp Leader and wider teaching team.
- Assist with registration, transitions and supervision throughout the day.
- Help set up and pack away equipment.
- Ensure activities are delivered safely at all times.
- Report any safeguarding or welfare concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children.
- Confident leading groups and engaging young people.
- Friendly, energetic and approachable.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Circus experience.
- Dance, gymnastics, theatre or performing arts experience.
- Sports coaching qualification.
- Teaching or youth work experience.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding training.
- Experience working on holiday camps.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Brings loads of energy and positivity every day.
- Loves encouraging children and helping them grow in confidence.
- Can think on their feet and keep children engaged.
- Isn't afraid to be silly, join in the fun and get involved.
- Works brilliantly as part of a team.
- Creates an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome.
- Is passionate about creating amazing experiences for children.
About the Camp
Children rotate through a wide variety of exciting activities including aerial arts, circus skills, acrobatics, juggling, games, performance, creative challenges and team-building activities.
Every day is different, and our goal is simple: to make sure every child goes home smiling, feeling more confident and proud of something they've achieved.
If you're someone who enjoys making a positive difference, bringing great energy and helping children have an unforgettable summer, we'd love to hear from you!
To Apply
Please send us:
- Your CV
- A short introduction about yourself and your experience working with children
- Details of any relevant qualifications or specialist skills
- Your Enhanced DBS status (if applicable)
Bonus points if you have circus experience! But if you've got fantastic energy, love working with children and can bring the fun, we'd still love to hear from you!
Pay: £15.00 per hour
