Overview
We are seeking a dedicated FLT Loader Builders Merchant to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating forklifts, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop mechanical and warehouse management skills within a professional environment. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse systems are highly desirable.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and yard areas.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation in line with safety standards.
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to maintenance teams.
- Support in the organisation of stock, including stacking, stacking, and replenishing stock levels as required.
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting to move goods safely around the site.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Support other warehouse activities such as order picking, packing, and dispatching.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Valid forklift licence (counterbalance or reach truck) is essential.
- Good mechanical knowledge and basic maths skills for inventory counting and measurements.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in stock handling.
- Basic understanding of equipment repair procedures or willingness to learn repair techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Pay: £28,419.48-£30,000.00 per year
