Job Title: Assidtant chef/ kitchen assistant with kitchen porter responsibilities
Drakes Coffee House is a busy daytime cafe in central Exeter. We are a family run establishment looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team to work alongside our chef and cover in his absence. As we are very small the successful candidate will also need to be happy to undertake some kitchen porter responsibilities . This is a great opportunity for someone with cooking experience who wants to be part of a small team and with the opportunity to use their initiative, come up with menu ideas . Daytime hours only and Sundays off
Reliability is essential
Responsibilities
- cover for chef on day off and holidays
- Assist Chef on a daily basis with food preparation, such as chopping vegetables or assembling sandwiches and assisting Chef during busy breakfast and lunch sessions as directed by the Chef or Owner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment including weekly deep clean of kitchen and prep area
-rotate stock and stock control and ensure freezers are kept in order
kitchen Porter responsibilites including using the dishwasher and cleaning down at end of shift
Other duties in the kitchen and cafe as required

- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
