Tesora Technology Services is an engineering-led provider of lifecycle solutions for Telecoms and IT equipment. We support our customers throughout the lifecycle of their technology, from inventory management and prestaging through to deployment, repair, reuse and decommissioning.
We are looking for an organised and reliable person to support the day-to-day running of our IT prestaging operation.
The Role
This role is primarily responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked, prepared, packed and processed accurately and on time, while maintaining excellent stock control within our prestaging lab.
You will work alongside our technical prestaging team, making sure they have the correct equipment available for each job, stock levels are maintained and completed equipment is processed efficiently through to dispatch.
While a more technical member of the team will normally lead device configuration and complex prestaging work, you will play an important part in keeping the workload organised and moving. You will also receive training in entry-level laptop and PC prestaging so you can provide additional support during busy periods and cover holidays or sickness when required.
This would suit someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with IT equipment and takes pride in making sure jobs are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Picking stock accurately against customer orders and project requirements
- Packing completed equipment ready for dispatch
- Ensuring orders and prestaging jobs are processed within required deadlines
- Allocating stock to customer projects and orders
- Maintaining accurate stock levels within the prestaging lab
- Replenishing prestaging stock from the main warehouse when required
- Checking that physical stock matches system records
- Highlighting stock shortages, discrepancies or potential delays
- Keeping the prestaging lab organised, clean and tidy
- Ensuring equipment is correctly labelled, asset tagged and documented
- Working closely with technical prestaging staff to manage the daily workload and priorities
- Monitoring outstanding jobs and helping ensure work progresses through the department on time
- Preparing laptops, PCs, routers, access points, switches, phones and other IT equipment for dispatch
- Carrying out basic laptop and PC prestaging after training
- Assisting with Windows installation, device setup, labelling and basic configuration
- Securely wiping laptops and IT equipment in line with company and customer procedures
- Providing additional prestaging support during busy periods
- Covering essential prestaging duties during holidays or sickness
- Following documented customer and company processes
- Carrying out quality checks before equipment leaves the department
What We're Looking For
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with stock control, inventory, picking and packing or order processing would be advantageous
- Comfortable working with laptops, PCs and other IT equipment
- Basic understanding of computer hardware
- Able to manage multiple orders and priorities at the same time
- Reliable and able to work to customer deadlines
- Confident checking quantities, serial numbers and stock records
- Able to identify and escalate stock discrepancies or potential delays
- Willingness to learn basic laptop and PC prestaging
- Experience installing Windows or configuring devices would be advantageous but is not essential
- Ability to follow documented processes and checklists
- Positive, practical and team-focused attitude
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and technical workshop environment
You do not need to be an experienced IT engineer for this position. The primary focus of the role is inventory, order management and keeping the prestaging operation running efficiently. Training will be provided for the technical elements of the position.
