Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Escort Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely assisting goods to designated locations while ensuring a smooth, professional experience. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will be essential in maintaining efficient routes and delivering exceptional service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a fast-paced environment where safety, communication, and mechanical knowledge are paramount. You will work closely with our low-loader drivers and be an integral part of the team here.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate escort vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Act professionally at all times across various sites.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly
- Occasionally assist with loading and unloading operations, utilising warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge as needed
- Communicate clearly with clients and team members to coordinate efficiently
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, work done, and vehicle maintenance records
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure the well-being of yourself and others during transit
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or as a courier with a strong safety record
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Warehouse experience is a plus for loading/unloading tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or route planning tools; familiarity with local roads preferred
