Located in the heart of the historic village of Fenwick, just outside Kilmarnock, The King's Arms is entering an exciting new chapter. Opening in just six weeks under new ownership, we're bringing together an ambitious kitchen team with a passion for exceptional food, quality ingredients, and genuine Scottish hospitality.
This is a rare opportunity to join from day one and help shape the future of a destination venue. Following our launch, the business will undergo a significant refurbishment in January, creating a completely refreshed dining experience while continuing our commitment to outstanding food and service.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Playing a key role in day-to-day kitchen operations.
Helping to shape and develop menus that celebrate local Scottish produce.
Maintaining the highest standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation.
Contributing ideas and creativity as the restaurant evolves through refurbishment.
Overseeing and supporting junior kitchen team members.
Ensuring food hygiene, allergen awareness, and kitchen safety standards are upheld.
Adapting confidently across a varied service style.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven experience in a professional kitchen at Sous Chef or Chef de Partie level.
A passion for great food and a pride in what you put on the plate.
Someone who thrives in a close-knit, hands-on team environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
A positive, can-do attitude - especially valuable during an exciting period of change.
Familiarity with Scottish produce and seasonal cooking is a big plus.
Relevant food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain).
