Job Summary
Cabo Edinburgh We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de partie to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, experience with Mexican flavours preferred but not essential as training will be given. rate available is inclusive of gratuity and service charge
Duties
- Section Ownership
- Full responsibility for your section (grill, plancha, fry, prep, or pass support)
Food Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and cook dishes to brand spec (tacos, small plates, salsas, marinades, etc.)
- Deliver consistent flavour profiles — seasoning is key in Mexican food (acid, salt, heat balance)
- Control cooking times across high-volume service (especially grill/fryer pressure)
- Plate dishes consistently to company standard
- Set up, maintain and close down your section to spec every shift
- Ensure mise en place is complete, labelled, and service-ready
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef D or in a similar culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting.
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- A passion for culinary arts with creativity in menu development and dish presentation.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
