Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Domestic and Laundry Assistant to support the smooth operation of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and experience in cleaning and laundry services within a healthcare or hospitality environment. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all domestic and laundry duties are performed efficiently, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort for residents and staff alike.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across designated areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal spaces, and offices, ensuring adherence to sanitation standards.
- Manage laundry operations by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, clothing, and other textiles in a timely manner.
- Use commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning agents effectively to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals and laundry processes.
- Restock supplies as needed and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleans to uphold the facility’s cleanliness standards.
- Support residents or staff with additional domestic tasks as required, demonstrating professionalism and respect at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred, with knowledge of infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with laundry machinery and processes is essential for effective task execution.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
