Business Development Director – Electrical Wholesale
Pay: £45,000 – £60,000 basic (DOE) + company car + fuel card
Commission / profit share structure with genuine earning potential as the business grows

The Role
Reform Electrical Distributors is a fast-growing independent wholesaler based in Southampton. We’ve built the business from nothing to our first £1m month and are continuing to scale quickly.
We are now looking for a Business Development Director to take ownership of external sales and drive the next stage of growth.
This is not a standard external sales role. You will take ownership of the external sales function — responsible for driving growth, shaping strategy and building out the function as the business scales.
You will take full ownership of external sales, with clear accountability for driving and delivering growth.
As the business grows, you will build, recruit and lead your own external sales team, taking full ownership of the function.
Responsibilities
Developing and growing a customer base across the South Coast
Winning new accounts and building long-term customer relationships
Securing orders and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities
Working closely with the internal sales team to convert quotes and opportunities
Maintaining exceptional levels of customer service
Identifying opportunities for growth within the business
Contributing ideas and strategy to help grow Reform Electrical
Supporting the development of the external sales function as the business grows
Requirements
Recent electrical wholesale experience is essential
Minimum 5 years industry experience
Previous experience in a BDM, ASM, Branch Manager or similar role
Proven track record of winning new business within electrical wholesale
Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage and grow accounts
Excellent communication skills
Highly organised and reliable
Strong work ethic and “can do” attitude
A pipeline of contacts or the ability to build one quickly
Applications without recent electrical wholesale experience will not be considered.
