As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end to end payroll function for Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with UK payroll legislation, pension requirements and company policies. Working closely within the People Culture team and closely with finance and operational leaders, you will play a key role in labour reporting, workforce planning and payroll governance, providing valuable insight that supports business performance and decision making.
- Manage the end to end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payment of all colleagues
- Oversee payroll for a workforce of approximately 350 to 400 employees
- Maintain robust payroll controls, validations and audit processes
- Validate payroll inputs including hours worked, pay rates, service charge, tronc and gratuities allocations
- Lead regular labour review meetings with Heads of Department to monitor productivity and labour performance
- Produce payroll reconciliations and investigate variances between payroll periods
- Manage statutory payroll submissions including HMRC and pension reporting
- Prepare payroll, labour and productivity reports for operational and finance teams
- Monitor labour costs against budgets, forecasts and productivity targets
- Analyse workforce trends and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and cost control
- Act as the subject matter expert for the Fourth payroll and HR system
- Support budgeting, forecasting and workforce planning across the hotel
- Manage payroll audits and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
- Resolve payroll queries and discrepancies professionally and confidentially
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and reporting
- Build strong relationships across departments and support leaders with payroll and labour management decisions

You bring payroll experience within hospitality, hotels or a multi department operational environment. Highly organised and detail focused, you are confident managing complex payroll processes while maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy and compliance. You have strong analytical skills, enjoy working with data and can translate labour and payroll information into meaningful business insight. Experience using Fourth payroll and HR systems would be highly advantageous.
