Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Van Driver to support our organisation’s transportation needs. This role involves safely transporting goods within the community, ensuring timely and reliable service. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver’s licence, experience in commercial driving, and excellent communication skills. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community while developing your driving and maintenance skills.
Duties
- Pick up donated furniture and goods
- Deliver sold furniture and goods to customers
- .Deliver and collect books
- Help with disposing of unwanted items to the tip.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence and experience in commercial driving or delivery is preferred.
- Proven ability in driving vehicles safely over various distances, including urban and rural routes.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures to identify potential issues early.
- Reliable, responsible, organised, and committed to punctuality.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to organisational policies and safety standards.
